Goal

To provide an opportunity whereby NPs, Physicians and PAs can learn to communicate more effectively with Spanish-speaking clients.

Objectives

Upon completion of this activity:

  1. Learner will be able to communicate 8 greetings and farewells during an interaction with a Spanish speaking patient or family member.

  2. Learner will be able to address Spanish-speaking patient or relatives with 8 different social pleasantries and courtesy expressions.

  3. Learner will be able to use 8 expressions that facilitate better communication with Spanish-speaking patient or relatives.

  4. Learner will be able to communicate 8 different ways of introduction to a Spanish-speaking patient or relatives.

  5. Learner will be able to ask 8 different questions to a Spanish-speaking patient about past medical history.

  6. Learner will be able to ask a Spanish-speaking patient in 8 different ways about general symptoms.

  7. Learner will be able to ask Spanish-speaking patients in 8 different ways about skin symptoms.

  8. Learner will be able to ask Spanish-speaking patients in 8 different ways about eyes and ears symptoms.

  9. Learner will be able to ask Spanish-speaking patients in 8 different ways about symptoms on nose and throat.

  10. Learner will be able to ask Spanish-speaking patients in 8 different ways about respiratory symptoms.

  11. Learner will be able to ask Spanish-speaking patients in 8 different ways about cardiovascular symptoms.
